A Family Tradition Evolving
Matt's Riverside Diner sits right where the St. Lawrence River flows through Clayton, and we've been feeding this community for 15 years as a third-generation family business. Our grandparents built this place as a true greasy spoon, and that legacy still matters, plenty of you still want those comfort-food classics, and we're keeping them on the menu. But times change, and so do appetites. Under new ownership, we're leaning into what today's customers are asking for: avocado toast, vegan options, gluten-free choices, and fresh salads that actually taste good. You don't have to choose between what feels like home and what feels like a choice you can feel good about. We've got both. Breakfast and lunch, every day, plus special holiday brunches and dinners that bring the community together.

What time are you open?
We're open for breakfast and lunch every day. We don't serve dinner during regular hours, but we do special holiday brunches and dinners for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Easter, and Christmas Eve, check with us for dates and details.
Do you have options if I'm vegetarian or vegan?
Absolutely. We're expanding our menu with vegan wraps, salads loaded with vegetables, and avocado toast. Let us know what you need, and we'll make it work.
